the art of observation | jacksonville portrait photographer
In August, I was wanting to push myself creatively, so I signed up for a workshop called The Art of Observation with the amazing Caroline Jensen. Her materials were designed to teach us how to observe details around us and be ready to document them. The assignments challenged me to go much deeper in creating each image, not shooting just because something's pretty, but because it moves me or tells a story. I couldn't be happier with the feedback Caroline and her teaching assistants provided, and I feel like I grew leaps and bounds as a photographer and artist during the class. Even though the subject matter I shot during the class was a departure from my typical families and kids, I think my learning has brought more soul to the way I capture my clients' images. Here is a sampling of my work.
